"Fun in the Sun!"
The Villa: We stayed in part of TropicalBeachParadise, a privately owned villa on the Dutch side of St Martin, but close to the French border, at Dawn Beach. The villa had a variety of units for rent, and an "on premise" owner, Hans, who was very helpful. The location was incredible if you want great views, and only one long stair case to the beach. The sound of the waves breaking on the sand was magical, and you heard it 24/7. The breeze was constant, too, and kept temperatures moderated. Palm trees grow right beside the villa, and lots of flowers were blooming on the hillside. It was a lovely location. The section of the villa that we rented featured a private fresh water pool that was deep and cool, and allowed for nice swimming that was different from playing in the salty waves. The deck of the pool looked out to the ocean, with a nice overhang for escaping the sun if you wanted. You could not ask for a better place to relax and read a book. The villa had cool, white tile flooring, big windows, and airconditioning units in the bedrooms if you wanted them. It was a minor complaint. There was a hot tub available for use, which was also nice. We enjoyed visiting with other renters, but unless you wanted to cross paths the lay-out of the villa is such that there is lots of privacy. It is a nice facility. Just over the border into the French section, we found several wonderful, small and friendly restaurants: The Eden, with all-you-can-eat mussels, salads, and pizza; L'Oasis, with great salads, pizza, and entrees. The grocery store and bakery, Aux Pains d'Espice was authentic and wonderfully French.

"You know how sometimes when you see the pictures of a place online and you think, "wow that's amazing, too good to be true". Well that's not the case here, for the 8 days I was there I felt like I was living in a postcard. The house was big and spacious, and everything was clean and comfortable. I enjoyed the huge bathroom in the villa, and the high ceilings and openness of it all. If you looking to get away, this is where I'd recommend it."

"We returned a week ago from St. Maarten and 8 days at Ocean Beach Paradise. I can't wait to go back. The island is fantastic and diverse, and the villa was ideal. There was some construction going on while we were there, which was the only negative, but I understand much of that is complete now. The location is terrific with easy access to French side beaches and culture as well as Dutch. The villa's Dawn Beach access is bordered on either side by resorts which are fun to visit for drinks or dancing, but also avoidable if you wish, which we did most of the time. We travelled to Orient Beach 4 of our 8 days, and relished our time there; but it was lovely coming "home" to the private villa. We had 9 people stay there comfortably (it helps when it's all family). The pool was great and our 10 year old was in it 80% percent of the time. I'd recommend the entire experience wholeheartedly.

"We have just left the most beautiful oceanfront beach home, and were so very sorry that we did not book for longer than 1 week. Next time, it will be a minimum of 2! Our 2 children 14 & 12, as well as my mom 65 years old, spent the day going from the spectacular beach to the invigorating pool. The surrounding gardens are just lovely. We were most pleasantly surprised to find that the bedrooms were very lovely & roomy and all new mattresses welcomed us to slumber each evening. The common areas were huge and decorated in island wicker with large comfortable cushions and foot rests. There is a lanai, dining area, full kitchen with GE and Magic Chef appliances, family room with a great bar and our laptop worked just fine with the wifi. We never even needed a cell phone. We truly felt that we were in a private estate and all of Dawn Beach was ours alone. A short drive, maybe 2 to 3 mins, to the French side and we ate our favorite meal at LaPlanteur, otherwise we walked to our right the Westin or Busby's, Big Fish, Infinity to our left. A mom and pop store down the road provided our essentials and fresh chocolate croissants and baguettes daily. Yum!! In all of our time on Dawn Beach, we could not find another private residence with such close proximity to everything, as Ocean Beach Paradise. We were more than satisified with our choice. We will highly recommend!"

"This property is one in a million! Upon arrival and opening of the remote-controlled gates, we felt as if we entered paradise as the view over the ocean is panoramic and unobstructed. We were amazed that we had a view of the ocean from all rooms of the house, especially the spacious living room, which has sliding doors to both the patio with swimming pool as well as the patio with barbecue grill. Both interrelated patios overlook the beach and ocean. The bedrooms have direct access to the swimming pool. Enjoy the sunrise and the sound of waves! There is a private walkway to the beach, which is very convenient. The beach is one of the island’s most beautiful beaches with gorgeous, wide, powdery white sand great for building sand castles and walking with bare feet. Best of all, there are no nearby high rise condos to spoil the view! Beach chairs are secured on the property’s beach. We did a lot of scuba diving from the beach with clear water. The house is all white, reflecting the ever-shining sun; the ceramic tiles in the house give an almost Mediterranean (European) flavor. The furniture and decoration are very appealing and in new condition, and in typical local style (Rattan furnishings and plantation style). The villa is a historical beach property in excellent condition with latest technology, appliances and well-maintained patio, roof and pool. The house is designed to work for 2-3 families. There is ample parking for 4 cars. The villa has three separate entrances and features a living room and dining area with television, fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, and 3 bedrooms, each with its own full bath. We enjoyed the Wi-fi access and phone usage. This is a property great for total relaxation with magnificent views of the ocean and direct access to the beautiful beach and nearby harbor with sailing boats and a restaurant."

We liked the body surfing and snorkeling in front of your place and also went to beaches at Little Bay, Le Gallion, and Orient.
Our favorite restaurant was Le Planteur near you. We also liked Rainbow, Auberge Gourmand, and Nettuno. Capt. Oliver was OK. At Le Tastevin the food was very good but they tried to put an extra entree on our bill so we were suspicious. Eveline and her husband had cooked an extensive dinner for us: fish, ribs, steak with mushroom gravy, clam chowder, and 3 different salads, with ice cream for dessert. This was much more than we had planned on, but we made good use of it the next few days.
